1. Who is your favorite super-villain? -Sabretooth from X-Men. I’m a big Wolverine fan and couldn’t get enough of the Wolverine vs Sabretooth rivalry when I was a kid.

2. You have to change professions, and don’t have any issues with obtaining a reasonable salary or training/relevant education: what would you become? a) Geologist -love, love earth science. Volcanos, rocks, earthquakes, weather patterns -all of it.  b) Shoe designer for Nike. Cause, well, duh.

3. When you were younger, what was one thing you thought you’d never do as an adult, but you’ve ended up doing? -not so sure this one has happened yet

4. What’s the weirdest/most unbelievable dream you’ve ever had? -I have reoccurring dreams where I’m in a must shoot deadly force situation. The gun always goes click, not bang :-/

5. Do you have a least-favorite celebrity, and why? The Kardashians. All of them. …and Kanye

6. Zombie apocalypse comes: what is your weapon of choice? -Shotgun, full-auto

7. Give me a really unpopular opinion of yours, in all caps. This isn’t phrased as a question, so suck it up. -ENOUGH WITH THE NFL PUTTING PINK ACCENTS ON EVERY ARTICLE OF UNIFORM TO SPREAD BREAST CANCER AWARENESS. I THINK WE’RE ALL AWARE BY NOW. ALSO, THEY’RE NOT EVEN USING THE RIGHT PINK. IT LOOKS A LOT MORE LIKE FUSCIA.

8. What’s your favorite dinner to make?  -Spaghetti Squash with homemade red sauce

9. If you could only listen to one Pandora/radio station forever, what is it? -Azure Ray, hands down.

10. Why did you choose the training plan you’re using? If you’re not currently training, tell me why you chose the current book you’re reading. -Time, really. I’m spread so thin & attending a CF class is much easier and time efficient than writing up my own program. Also, being able to take Zito to the gym with me goes a long way. I don’t run as much as I’d like to, mostly because I’m coming back from injury. I wish I had the time for more yoga. And I wish I had the time & money to get back into Pilates & Spin.

11. What’s your MBTI personality type? I think it’s interesting. -ENFP, yo!

Rest Day: Until further notice, I will be getting home two hours later on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  This means I will only have time for Zito and dinner, & bed.  No CrossFit, and probably no runs seeing as I’ll be running on fumes (see what I did there?).

Quick Update

There’s a lot to be excited about: 

  • Obviously I’m waiting on the new gig to materialize.  But also,  I’m working a project that could potentially manifest into a small (large?) business. 
  • I haven’t been on any dates since Crazy Chick, and that’s okay.  Women are like buses, I won’t be ‘waiting’ long. 
  • Lastly,  I’m taking a 3-day weekend and hitting the LA area for the 2014 CrossFit Games.  I’m looking forward to hanging out  with a couple friends from Chicago and, well, eye candy -duh. 

Hmmm… I thought this was going to be a much longer post.  Whoops

Run: 2+ miles with Zeet and the vest in 20+ minutes (watch was dead).  It was hot and Z took a lot of phantom potty breaks.  Also, he quit 3 blocks from the house.  Then, CrossFit…
Conditioning: 5 rounds of 2min to complete 8 burps, 10 wallballs and row for calorie count with remaining time. 90sec rest between rounds.  Score each round by calorie count.  1st round: 18cal, 2nd round: 18cal, 3rd round: 19cal, 4th round: 19, 5th round: 21!💥
Strength: Widow-makers -box-squat warm-up (sit on box just below the 90 degree break, pause, then explode upwards):  25% (round up to 45lbs) of this weeks load (130lbs) for 20reps.  Then, 15 reps at 50% followed by 10reps at 75%.  Then, the WMs; 1x20 at 130lbs.
Warmup: 200meter run, foam rolling, hip openers & dynamic stretching.
Cool down: hop on my Duc and GO! Followed by Zeet, pizza, & beer 😁 
This WOD knocked me on my ass.  I wasted no time in getting off the rower  once the buzzard sounded off.  See, not tying my shoes actually paid off.

2.25miles in 23:19 + Zito & weighted vest.

I tripped on a pot hole while checking out a chick and her husky about a half mile into our run.  I began to summersault  forward but the weights on the backside of my vest stopped my momentum as they dug into my back mid flip.  I laid there for a couple seconds.  In the middle of the street.  Flat on my back.  One leg spread out and flat.  The other with a bent knee.  She asked if i was okay and i gave her a thumbs up and Zeet and I scampered off.  Womp Womp.

Partner WOD: 8rounds of 100meter run with medball, 16 pull-ups, 16 wallballs.  Partner A runs with medball tags partner B, partner B then completes 16 pull-ups.  Partner B tags partner A, then partner A completes 16 wallballs.  Round ends when Partner A competes all 16 wallballs.  Partner B starts the second round with the medball run and brutality ensues.

Warmup/Cool down: stretching and more stretching.   

I rode my Duc to class this morning.  It was my first time on the freeway (albeit for about a mile) and I didn’t die -yay!  I even got a thumbs up by some dude in a Lexus on the way home.

AMRAP: 6min for 12 pull-ups, 5 squat cleans at 95lbs, 25 double-unders.  TOTAL: 3.10 (3 complete rounds, 10 pull-ups).
…then widow-makers; 1X20 back squats at 125lbs
Skill: refine one handed KB snatch technique 
Warmup: daynamic stretching
Cool down: i don’t remember, but we probably stretched.  Oh, and shenanigans as pictured above.
Then, Hour OF POWER💥💪 
5x5 strict press working weight to build to a new 1RepMax.  1st set: 125lbs (too heavy, struggled with the 5th rep). Remaining sets: 105lbs.  Then, 4X8 superset of lateral dumbbell raises and strict (dead hang) pull-ups.
